Advancing Aviation Education in Wallowa County Schools

2021 Wallowa County Fly-In and Air Show

The field of aviation is expansive and growing including careers as professional airline pilots, aviation mechanics, designers, Forest Service firefighting and agriculture services.

A group of pilots, educators and interested local citizens have joined together with the intention of capitalizing on this trend by forming the Northeast Oregon Aviation Foundation (NEOAF) with the mission of bringing aviation to Wallowa County high schools.

Aviation is offered to 14 students at Joseph Charter School (JCS).  The program is tied to Treasure Valley Community College’s aviation program, allowing participants to earn college credit for the work they are doing in high school.
